Frequently asked questions

How Insertora finds contextual link opportunities, how relevance is scored, and how plans and credits work.

What does Insertora do?

Insertora scans the public pages of a publisher website you specify, finds existing articles that are relevant to your target keyword, highlights the paragraphs where a contextual link would fit naturally, and suggests anchor text. It helps you research link insertion opportunities before you contact a publisher.

Does Insertora insert links into websites?

No. Insertora only discovers and ranks potential placements on publicly accessible pages. It never modifies third-party websites, and it cannot guarantee that a publisher will accept a link insertion request.

How is relevance calculated?

Each page is scored with a transparent, self-hosted ranking method: keyword normalization and stemming, exact phrase and term matching, title and heading relevance, BM25 body scoring, best-paragraph matching, keyword coverage and placement quality. Every result shows its score breakdown. Insertora does not use third-party AI services.

Can I try it without creating an account?

Yes. Visitors can run a limited free scan without signing up (up to 100 pages, with a small number of visible results and no export). Create a free account to save history and run up to 5 scans per day.

How does Insertora find pages on a website?

It reads robots.txt, XML sitemaps and sitemap indexes, RSS/Atom feeds, and follows internal links such as category pages, archives and pagination. Pages that are not listed in a sitemap and not linked from anywhere (orphaned pages) cannot be reliably discovered.

Does the crawler respect robots.txt?

Yes. InsertoraBot identifies itself, obeys robots.txt rules and crawl-delay, spaces out its requests, backs off when a site responds with rate limits, and never attempts to bypass logins, CAPTCHAs or other access controls.

Why are some scans faster than others?

If a publisher was indexed recently (within about 48 hours), Insertora reuses that index and only runs the keyword analysis, which is much faster. New websites must be crawled first. Scans also wait in a fair first-in, first-out queue when many are running.

What do the score categories mean?

Scores range from 0 to 100. 85+ is an Excellent Match, 70–84 a Strong Match, 50–69 a Moderate Match, and anything lower a Weak Match. Every score includes its components so you can judge it yourself.

Are the suggested sentences taken from the publisher's page?

No. Paragraphs shown as "existing" are quoted from the fetched page. Suggested insertion sentences come from simple templates and are always labelled as suggestions — they do not exist on the publisher's page.

Can I export results?

Paid plans can export opportunities to CSV and Excel (XLSX). Export availability depends on your plan.
